The Phoenix House of Tuscaloosa’s mission is to provide individualized, supportive, and compassionate care to those suffering from an addiction, treating each client’s underlying core problems to help them heal spiritually, mentally, and physically.
We strive to instill the tools needed to achieve and sustain a long-term recovery. To enable sustained recovery and sobriety, we provide strong case management which focuses on personal goals, and relationship development where family dynamics are repaired, futures rebuilt, and sustainable recovering lifestyle is achieved. “From the ashes we rise.”

Founded in 1972, we are a state certified residential rehab facility. We serve men and women throughout the State. We are supported by The United Way of West Alabama, the Alabama Department of Mental Health, First United Methodist Church of Tuscaloosa, First Presbyterian Church of Tuscaloosa, and private donations.
The Phoenix House of Tuscaloosa is here to give you the support and information to beat addiction and change your life.
To be considered for admission to the Phoenix House, you must have a state substance abuse psychosocial assessment. You can get an assessment done at your local Mental Health Center or if you are in the Tuscaloosa area you can call Phoenix House for an appointment at no cost to you. If you already have an assessment fax it to Phoenix House at 205-758-3803 attention INTAKE or email to intake@phtcl.org for review. If you meet the criteria and are appropriate for one of our level of care our admission coordinator will assist you with what you need for admission to our program as soon as we have an available bed.
