List of Items to bring to Phoenix House and Basic Information

Note: This is not a comprehensive rule book, but a guide to aid you with frequently asked questions. READ YOUR ENTIRE RULE BOOK.

Twin size bedding, pillows, towels, & hygiene products

Yes. You may bring a week’s work of clothing, but no more than 2 suitcases & 1 carry bag are allowed.

Yes. Snacks, drinks, & coffee are permitted, but everything must be unopened.
NO ENERGY DRINKS OR SHOTS. 

Absolutely! Three meals per day are provided by Phoenix House 7 days per week.  (Cold Breakfast

Yes, but Cigarettes (if a smoker), vapes and smokeless tobacco are only allowed in designated areas.

Yes. Please bring laundry detergent to use while at The Phoenix House.

Any prescription medications must be in their prescription bottles.

OTC medications can be brought, but must be unopened. (No Benadryl, PM, DM, laxatives or cough meds are permitted.

Meds must be turned in and checked in by nurse before they can be administered including OTC medications. 

There is a $300.00 admission fee. (This does not have to be paid up front.

Housing Fee is $150.00/week once client has obtained employment or arranged payment through disability benefits.

Housing Fees & Admission Fee must be paid along with completing the 90 days to receive a successful completion.

Cell Phones are allowed but are considered a privilege. 

  • Phoenix House reserves the right to determine if an individual’s cell phone is disrupting daily operations and must be turned into to staff.
  • No other electronic devices of any kind are allowed

Wakeup time is 5am for both males and females

  • Clients are not permitted to return to bed after wakeup
  • Clients are to be dressed, ready for the day and have rooms cleaned by 9am.
  • Clients cannot return to rooms between the hours of 9am-3pm.

Cell Phones are only electronics allowed

  • No Bluetooth speakers
  • No laptops
  • No iPad of any brand
  • All music and videos must be played through headphones
  • No facetime around other clients or staff (confidentiality issues)

Yes, but ALL FOOD must be in plastic bin provided by Phoenix House.

  • Unopened drinks may be stored under beds in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • All food that is found outside of plastic bin is subject to being disposed of by staff.
  • No coolers or refrigerators of any kind in rooms are allowed in rooms.

Yes. Beds must be made and all clothes, shoes and personal property must be stored in a neat and orderly fashion upon leaving rooms at 9am daily.   -Floors in rooms must be cleaned daily before 9am.

Clients are not eligible to have vehicles on Phoenix House property without first presenting their current driver’s license, proof of insurance and a current tag receipt to the case manager. Case manager must then approve vehicle to be on Phoenix House property before vehicle can be parked on Phoenix House property

-Clients are not authorized to drive vehicles without first letting onduty staff know they are leaving the property and must inform onduty staff upon return to Phoenix House

Clients must come to authorized medication times to receive medications. Clients that are late for authorized medication times will receive progress notes and will be subject to pass restriction

Clients are not permitted to use any tobacco or vaping products anywhere at the facility other than approved men’s and women’s smoking areas

Clients are not permitted to use Friendship Baptist property for smoking

Clients are not permitted to interact with opposite sex clients outside of meetings and groups. (Phoenix House considers this to be fraternization and can result in behavior contract and or discharge from program.)

Yes. Below are some rules to follow:

  • Clients are not permitted to wear shorts, dresses or skirts that are shorter than 3 inches above the knee.
  • No tank tops.
  • No pajamas in common areas and staff offices.
  • Clients are permitted to wear yoga pants, but must cover back side of body.
